Chris Pratt to host Season 40 premiere of 'Saturday Night Live'

Ariana Grande will also make her debut as 'SNL' musical guest in the first episode of the new season.

NEW YORK, Sept. 10 (UPI) -- Comic actor Chris Pratt is to serve as guest host for the 40th season premiere of the New York sketch comedy series Saturday Night Live Sept. 27, NBC announced Wednesday.

Pratt is a cast member of TV's Parks and Recreation, and the star of The LEGO Movie, Guardians of the Galaxy and the upcoming film Jurassic World.

Ariana Grande will make her SNL musical guest debut on the Season 40 premiere.

Comedian Sarah Silverman will host the show Oct. 4 when Maroon 5 is the night's musical act.
