UNIVERSAL CITY, Calif., May 8 (UPI) -- USA Network said Thursday its development slate for the 2014-15 television season includes projects from Amy Poehler, Jodie Foster, Jessica Biel, Peter Tolan and Carlton Cuse.

The cable network also announced the cast-contingent pilot pick-up for the hour-long, original drama series, "Stanistan."

The show follows the staff at an American compound in a Middle Eastern country "where State Department workers, covert CIA officers and journalists operate in a delicate balance of danger and silliness, using every coping mechanism available," a synopsis said.

"This slate represents the next generation of originals at USA, with a focus on dramas that are more serialized, provocative and culturally resonant," Chris McCumber, the network's president, said in a statement. "We're very much committed to partnering with some of the most talented creatives in the business to offer a broad mix of compelling programming for our viewers."
