Music icon Mariah Carey and "Idol" veteran Randy Jackson have been confirmed to appear in the new edition of the series and Jonas said Saturday he is in talks to join them.

"The rumors are true... I am being considered to be a judge on American Idol," Jonas tweeted. "And it would be a dream come true if it happens. #nickonidol."

A show source told UsMagazine.com "American Idol" producers hope Jonas, 19, can help bring a "younger demo" to the show.
