Quinn's 'Story' to open on Broadway

NEW YORK, Oct. 13 (UPI) -- Colin Quinn's one-man show "Long Story Short," directed by Jerry Seinfeld, is heading to Broadway, the stage comedy's Web site said.

Written and performed by Quinn, the show is to play for a limited 11-week engagement from Oct. 22 through Jan. 8 at Manhattan's Helen Hayes Theatre. It previously enjoyed a successful off-Broadway run at the 45 Bleecker Street Theater during the summer.

"Comically channeling the demise of great world empires, Colin Quinn uses his 'articulate brand of comedy' in taking audiences through an uproarious history of the world in 75 minutes," the show's Web site said. "From his personification of Caesar as the original Italian mobster to his complaints about Ancient Greece and Antigone giving way to Costco and Snooki, Quinn is at his satirical best, taking on the attitudes, appetites and bad habits that toppled the world's most powerful nations. 'Colin Quinn Long Story Short' proves that throughout human history, the joke has always been on us."
