LOS ANGELES, Aug. 20 (UPI) -- Canadian-born reality television personality Dean McDermott became a U.S. citizen Friday, records files in Los Angeles show.

"(The moment was amazing) ... I was so proud and overwhelmed all at the same time. To take my oath and pledge allegiance beneath a giant American flag is something I will never forget.
