NEW YORK, Nov. 24 (UPI) -- The show coordinator for "Good Morning America" says Adam Lambert's free "GMA" concert in New York Wednesday has been canceled.

The announcement comes after the "American Idol" runner-up was criticized for his racy performance on the American Music Awards show Sunday night.

"The Adam Lambert concert on 'Good Morning America' at the Hudson Theatre has been officially canceled. It is not necessary to come to the theater because it will be closed. Thank you for your interest in the show and Adam Lambert. We look forward to your attendance at future events," the Los Angeles Times quoted the coordinator as saying.

The Times said CBS booked Lambert on "The Early Show" Wednesday morning, however, to talk about his awards show performance.
