DMX album 'Exodus' released after rapper's death

May 28 (UPI) -- Exodus, a new album from DMX, has been released in the wake of the rapper's death.

The posthumous album was released Friday, more than a month after DMX died at age 50 after being hospitalized for a heart attack.

Exodus features 13 songs, including the single "Hood Blues." The album features collaborations with Jay-Z, Nas, Bono, Lil Wayne, Snoop Dogg, Alicia Keys and other artists.

The new album was released by Def Jam and was executive produced and produced by Swizz Beatz.

"My brother X was one of the most purest and rare souls I've ever met. He lived his life dedicated to his family and music. Most of all, he was generous with his giving and loved his fans beyond measure," Swizz Beatz said.

"This album, X couldn't wait for his fans all around the world to hear and show just how much he valued each and every single person that has supported him unconditionally," he added.

Exodus is DMX's first album since Undisputed, released in 2012, and the rapper's first with Def Jam since Grand Champ, released in 2003.
