Elton John to end Las Vegas residency in 2018

"All good things must come to an end," the star's team announced.

Oct. 17 (UPI) -- Music superstar Elton John will end his Las Vegas residency in 2018.

The 70-year-old singer and musician's official Twitter account announced Monday that John will play his final Million Dollar Piano show at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace in May.

"All good things must come to an end. Elton plays his FINAL Million Dollar Piano shows at @caesarspalace next May," the star's team wrote.

John has performed 450 shows at The Colosseum since February 2004, according to an accompanying post on his website. His Million Dollar Piano residency kicked off in September 2011, and will end May 19.

"For over a decade, Elton John and his band have graced the stage at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace, performing all the hits that have defined a generation," Caesars Palace president Gary Selesner said in a statement.

"Elton John's residency at The Colosseum has set the standard for those all that have followed," he lauded. "We are incredibly grateful to Elton for allowing Caesars Palace to be the home for his 450 memorable performances."

Tickets for John's final 14 residency shows will go on sale Oct. 22. The dates are as follows:
