Ferguson was arrested April 23, a week after King announced she had "skipped out" on their wedding. TMZ reported King and Ferguson were arguing at their Los Angeles home when Ferguson grabbed King, tossed her on a bed and threatened to kill her.

Ferguson denied the allegations, but said he threw the singer to keep her from hurting herself. King told authorities she was left "dizzy" but conscious after Ferguson choked her, but declined to press charges.

King confirmed her split from Ferguson in a post Tuesday after announcing they secretly married in March 2016. She and Ferguson legally wed three weeks after they met, but were to tie the knot in a wedding ceremony in April.

"My heart is broken," the star said of the breakup. "My soul aches. I am lost. He is the greatest love of my life. He is my best friend."
