Chris Brown under investigation for punching photographer

April 18 (UPI) -- Chris Brown is being investigated by police in Florida for striking a photographer inside a Tampa nightclub.

Brown was present at Club Aja Sunday as part of an appearance that he was paid for reports news affiliate ABC 7.

Bennis Vines, 28, a photographer at the club says that he was "sucker punched" by Brown for taking photos of him. Brown fled the scene once officers arrived.

Vines plans on pressing charges for a minor laceration on his lip. He refused medical attention at the time.

In speaking with TMZ, Vines says that the busted lip is one of several injuries he suffered which has kept him from working.
