Demi Lovato, Andra Day to perform at White House's Ray Charles tribute

WASHINGTON, Feb. 21 (UPI) -- First lady Michelle Obama says a program called Smithsonian Salutes Ray Charles: In Performance at the White House is to take place Wednesday.

Artists scheduled to perform that evening are Yolanda Adams, Leon Bridges, Andra Day, Anthony Hamilton, Brittany Howard, Demi Lovato, Sam Moore, Jussie Smollett, The Band Perry and Usher.

Rickey Minor is serving as executive music director for the show, which will air on PBS stations nationwide Friday.

The event will also feature a daytime student workshop honoring the late singer-songwriter's music.

Ray Charles died in 2004 at the age of 73.
