WASHINGTON, Jan. 28 (UPI) -- Pop and Hip-Hop artist Rihanna released her long-awaited eighth studio album, Anti, on Tidal late Wednesday night.

The album comes less than a day after the Barbados-born musician released the record's first single, a track called "Work" featuring Drake.

The Verge reports the album was uploaded prematurely on Tidal's servers Wednesday, allowing some users to share it before it was announced. Anti is available to stream exclusively on the Jay-Z-owned streaming website, with a bonus version of the album dropping Friday.

Rihanna shared a link to the download page for her album on Twitter alongside her announcement Wednesday including a special download code sponsored by Samsung. The code, available for a limited time, gives users a free 60-day trial to Tidal as well as a free download of the album.

Anti is Rihanna's first album since her 2012 project Unapologetic, and since then, passionate fans have been rampant for a new one although the artist released several stand-alone singles including "FourFiveSeconds" and "BBHMM."
