NEW YORK, Jan. 1 (UPI) -- Pop music superstar Taylor Swift celebrated New Year's Eve by releasing the video for her song "Out of the Woods," which is off of her latest album 1989.

The 4-minute, fantasy-themed clip has gotten more than 2 million views since it was posted on YouTube Thursday night.

The video shows Swift alone on beaches and mountain tops, swimming in the sea, being pursued by wolves through a snowy forest, and attempting to free herself from mud and thorny vines in a swamp.

"She lost him, but she found herself and somehow that was everything," say the words that appear on the screen at the end of the video after the fierce, but bedraggled Swift reunites with what seems to be a more serene, contemplative version of herself, who is gazing out at the ocean.
