2 Chainz charged with misdemeanor in Oklahoma bus incident

OKLAHOMA CITY, Dec. 24 (UPI) -- Rapper 2 Chainz has been charged with a misdemeanor for allegedly refusing police commands to exit a tour bus during a traffic stop in Oklahoma City.

The 36-year-old hip-hop artist, whose real name is Tauheed Epps, was charged with obstructing an officer in the performance of his official duties last August, the Oklahoman newspaper reported Tuesday.

An Oklahoma City police officer stopped the bus on Interstate 40 after spotting it had a broken taillight, then said he smelled "an overwhelming odor of marijuana" when the driver got out of the bus. The driver refused to let the officer board the bus and its passengers ignored multiple orders to exit the vehicle, the Oklahoman cites court affidavits as saying.

Police arrested the driver, Epps and nine others after the bus was towed to a police training center.

Epps faces up to a year in jail and a $1,000 fine if convicted, the newspaper said.
