LOS ANGELES, May 25 (UPI) -- U.S. musician Gregg Allman said on CNN's "Piers Morgan Tonight" he is engaged to marry his seventh wife.
UsMagazine.com reported she is a 24-year-old woman named Shannon.
The 64-year-old founding member of The Allman Brothers Band and father of five children did not offer any details regarding his fiancee's identity during Friday's edition of the program. He also didn't say how long they have been dating or when they plan to wed.
"How does she feel about becoming wife No. 7?" Morgan asked Allman.
"That's not what she's becoming. She's becoming wife No. 1. I don't have a wife. I haven't had one for years," Allman said.
Asked what made him want to take the plunge again, Cher's ex-husband said, "Because this time I'm really in love."
