Stone turned heads in a sequined yellow minidress, while Gosling looked dapper in a navy blue suit. The pair, who previously co-starred in the movies Crazy, Stupid, Love and Gangster Squad, had nothing but praise for each other in an interview with E! News.

"I just think he's great," Stone said of Gosling. "I mean, he's a fantastic actor and it's just so much fun to work with him and that's kind of all there is to it, really. It's no more exciting than that or less exciting than that."

"We made two films together and now three, and so, you know, it's great to work with people you know," Gosling added. "I think it brings the best out of you because you know each other, and you are able to help each other in a way that you can't if you're strangers."

La La Land is written and directed by Whiplash helmer Damien Chazelle. The movie is a musical comedy-drama that follows the romance between an aspiring actress (Stone) and a jazz musician (Gosling).

"I think what Damien wrote is really beautiful and nostalgic and sweet," Stone told E!. "It's nice to be part of something that hopefully gives people joy for two hours. A lot's been happening."

"The thing about this film is that even though it's a musical, it's really about these two people and their relationship. It's very accessible," Gosling said. "The music just aids the story; it's not the inverse."
