Samuel L. Jackson also appears as the villain Barron, a Wight who hunts and kills peculiars. Ella Purnell, Chris O'Dowd, Allison Janney and Judi Dench co-star.

Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children is based on the Ransom Riggs novel of the same name. The adaptation is directed by Tim Burton and opens in theaters Sept. 30.

"She's like a scary Mary Poppins, and she can turn into a bird," Burton said of Miss Peregrine to Entertainment Weekly in March. "It's a weird family," he added of the orphanage.

Green previously collaborated with Burton on the 2012 movie Dark Shadows. The 35-year-old actress is best known for playing Vanessa Ives on the Showtime series Penny Dreadful.
