Christopher Guest's 'Mascots' comedy will be a Netflix exclusive

LOS ANGELES, Aug. 11 (UPI) -- The next big-screen comedy from actor and filmmaker Christopher Guest is to premiere exclusively on Netflix in 2016.

Guest is best-known for his mockumentary-style movies such as For Your Consideration, A Mighty Wind, Best in Show and This is Spinal Tap.

His latest comedy Mascots will look at the "drama, intrigue and occasional excitement of the 8th World Mascot Association Championships," a news release said.

No casting has been announced yet, but Guest usually works with a company of actors that includes Harry Shearer, Fred Willard, Bob Balaban, Ed Begley, Jr., Jane Lynch, Michael McKean, Catherine O'Hara, Eugene Levy and Parker Posey.
