Nov. 28 (UPI) -- Dog the Bounty Hunter star and wife of Duane 'Dog' Chapman, Beth Chapman, has undergone emergency surgery following the return of her throat cancer.

Beth's lawyer Andrew Brettler confirmed to Entertainment Tonight that the reality television star was hospitalized on Tuesday.

Beth was taken to Cedar-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles after having difficulty breathing, TMZ reported citing sources. A large mass in her throat was then discovered.

Beth, 51, was diagnosed with stage 2 throat cancer in September 2017. She later announced she was cancer-free during a two-hour special on A&E titled Dog & Beth: Fight of Their Lives.

"I can confirm that Beth was hospitalized today and underwent surgery to remove a mass in her throat, which was determined to be a reoccurrence of the cancer. I understand that the situation is very serious," Brettler said in a statement.

"We are all concerned for her and the well-being of the Chapman family," he continued.
