May 3 (UPI) -- Prince Harry and Meghan Markle appear on a new, commemorative coin.

The Royal Mint, which is owned by Her Majesty's Treasury, issued a £5 coin this week in honor of the couple's upcoming wedding. The keepsake sells for £13.

The uncirculated coins feature a portrait of Harry and Markle and the pair's wedding date, May 19, 2018. The Royal Mint said in a tweet Wednesday it was granted a sitting with the couple earlier this year.

"Earlier this year we were granted a sitting at Kensington Palace to capture photographs. The images provided designer Jody Clark, with additional reference material to develop a #coin design, celebrating the #RoyalWedding," the company said.

ABC News reported The Royal Mint is also releasing special editions of the coin. The company minted 2,018 coins in sterling silver, 15,000 in silver proof and 850 in gold proof.

"It has been an honor for The Royal Mint to work closely with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle to create the authentic Royal Wedding coin celebrating this most British of celebrations," Royal Mint head Anne Jessopp said.

Harry and Markle will tie the knot May 19 at St. George's Chapel at Windsor Castle. The couple have chosen an Ascot Landau carriage drawn by Grey Windsor horses for their wedding procession.
