Netflix's 'Santa Clarita Diet' Season 2 to premiere in March

Feb. 21 (UPI) -- Netflix horror-comedy Santa Clarita Diet, starring Drew Barrymore, is set to return to the streaming service for Season 2 on March 23.

The premiere date was announced Tuesday on Instagram alongside a montage featuring Barrymore and her co-star Timothy Olyphant as married couple Joel and Sheila. The pair are seen answering their door to let guests into their house.

The video ends with Barrymore asking for help in putting her thumbs back into place.

"When you're literally dead inside, but you're trying to play it cool," reads the caption, a reference to how Barrymore's character is a flesh-eating zombie who is trying her best to maintain a normal life in the suburbs.

Season 2 of Santa Clarita Diet will feature Barrymore and Olyphant searching for a cure for the zombie virus, Entertainment Weekly reported. Joel McHale, Maggie Lawson, Gerald McRaney and Zachary Knighton are set to guest star.
