Monica Potter divorcing husband Daniel Christopher Allison

Feb. 3 (UPI) -- Parenthood alum Monica Potter and her husband, orthopedic surgeon Daniel Christopher Allison, are divorcing after more than a decade of marriage.

E! News said Potter blamed "irreconcilable differences" for the split in legal documents.

"She is very sad and heartbroken, a source close to the couple told People magazine. "But they are focused on co-parenting their daughter."

The former couple have a 12-year-old girl named Molly Brigid. Potter also is mother to two adult sons from a previous marriage.

The actress made headlines last month when she announced she has been battling colitis for the past two years.
