Adam Levine wants daughter's first word to be 'dada'

March 15 (UPI) -- Adam Levine says he hopes his daughter's first word will be "dada."

The 37-year-old singer and television personality said on Tuesday's episode of The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon that he and wife Behati Prinsloo are competing for daughter Dusty Rose's impending milestone.

"I've been working 'dada' hard," Levine told host Jimmy Fallon. "You do slip it into every single thing you say. Like, if she's being cute, you're like, 'Oh my God, look how cute you are. Dada!'"

"We've gotten some ['dada']-esque sounds, but nothing concrete," he added. "But I'm working super hard at it. And my wife is working 'mama,' so it's a battle to the finish, but we'll see."

Levine and Prinsloo married in 2014 after two years of dating, and welcomed Dusty Rose in September. The couple brought their daughter to the singer's Hollywood Walk of Fame ceremony in February.

"I have a daughter, I have the most beautiful wife in the entire world. I am the luckiest person who has ever lived, and it has nothing to do with me, it has to do with the people who love me," he said in his speech.

Levine is the frontman of the pop rock band Maroon 5, and last released the album V with the group in 2014. He also serves as a coach on the NBC reality competition The Voice with Blake Shelton, Gwen Stefani and Alicia Keys.
