LOS ANGELES, Sept. 2 (UPI) -- Devious Maids' Aug. 8 season finale unexpectedly became its series finale after Lifetime execs pulled the plug on the show after four seasons.

The series broke Hollywood ground as the first all-Latina cast on English-speaking television and starred Ana Ortiz, Dania Ramirez, Roselyn Sanchez, and Judy Reyes. Susan Lucci, Rebecca Wisocky, Tom Irwin, and Grant Show appeared as supporting cast.

The show was developed by Desperate Housewives creator Marc Cherry and produced by former Housewives star Eva Longoria.

Next to Lifetime's new drama UnREAL, Devious Maids was the only other original scripted series on the network which is undergoing major rebranding.

Lifetime has built a new look around the word "fempire," aiming to appeal to a younger and edgier audience.
