Russell Brand confirms his girlfriend is pregnant

LONDON, July 9 (UPI) -- British comedian Russell Brand has confirmed via social media he will soon be a first-time father.

"Right then. My Mum bought me this. Time to get ready! #trewlit #bookstagram #parenting," he wrote in an Instagram post Friday.

The message captioned a photo of him reading The Expectant Dad's Handbook.

Brand has been dating Laura Gallacher for several years. He was previously married to pop star Katy Perry 2010-11.
