'Underground' star Jurnee Smollett-Bell expecting first child

"So in love with this beautiful blessing God has given us," the actress said.

LOS ANGELES, June 7 (UPI) -- Jurnee Smollett-Bell and husband Josiah Bell are expecting their first child.

The 29-year-old actress announced the news Monday on social media by sharing a photo of herself and Bell holding her growing baby bump.

"He+Me+Baby=Three. So in love with this beautiful blessing God has given us. #WeArePregnant!! @josiahbell," she captioned the picture.

Smollett-Bell received immediate congratulations from her brother Jussie Smollett, who plays Jamal Lyon on Fox series Empire. The siblings have three other brothers and one sister: Jake, Jocqui, Jojo and Jazz.

"My little baby is having a baby!!!!!!!!" the 32-year-old actor wrote. "@jurneebell I remember mommy giving birth to you and now you're about to have a baby of your own."

"I love you so so so so much," he added. "This is the most blessed event in life and you & @josiahbell are built for it. Love y'all so much. #BabyBellis coming! #UncleJesseForTheSecondTime."

Smollett-Bell and Bell, a singer-songwriter, married in 2010. The couple share a love of music and once told Sonos, "Music is pretty much the core of our household, our relationship. It is the creative force of everything we do."

Smollett-Bell is known for playing Jess Merriweather on Friday Night Lights and Nicole Wright on True Blood. She's now portraying Rosalee on the WGN America series Underground, which was renewed for a second season in April.
