HOLLYWOOD, June 7 (UPI) -- Legendary rocker Axl Rose has issued a take-down request with Google for an image being used to create viral "Fat Axl" memes on line. The 2010 image taken by Boris Minkevich at the Winnipeg Free Press shows Rose hunched over and wearing a red bandana at the TS Centre in Winnipeg.

It has been circulating in a series of memes with plays on the band's lyrics for Sweet Child O' Mine, like "Oh sweet pie o' mine" and "Take me down to the bakery city," The New York Daily News reported.
"Please be advised that no permission has been granted to publish the copyright image so we cannot direct you to an authorized example of it," WebSheriff wrote on the performer's behalf. The copyright infringement claims were sent to Blogspot and GoogleUserContent May 31, Rolling Stone reported.
A representative for Guns 'n Roses declined to comment, but the complaint has been verified.
The notices aren't likely to get the offending photo removed from being used as memes, according to TorrentFreak.
Though thousands of these notices are filed weekly by those trying to protect their work from internet piracy, only a few of the requests are acted on, according to TorrentFreak.
