Gigi Hadid responds to criticism of her love life

LOS ANGELES, March 25 (UPI) -- Gigi Hadid isn't standing for criticism of her personal life.

The 20-year-old model shut down a Twitter user this week after the person criticized her runway walk and love life.

"I've dated 3 guys in 3 yrs, hun. My walk can always get better; I hope the unrelated bitterness in ur heart can too," Hadid wrote. Her response received over 33,000 likes.

The social media user had accused the model of dating too many men, tweeting, "@GigiHadid practise how to walk properly instead of having a new bf every 2 weeks." The person has since deleted their account.

Hadid is dating former One Direction member Zayn Malik and recently starred in the singer's music video for "Pillowtalk." Malik opened up about the relationship in the April/May issue Complex, admitting he hasn't adjusted to dating in the spotlight.

"I try to keep the two very separate. I try to, as much as I can. But there's only so much you can do," the 23-year-old star related. "I'm learning to deal with it. It's just one of those things now, in the background. I just leave it as a bit of a noise in the background."

Hadid previously dated singer Cody Simpson and singer and actor Nick Jonas. The model, who has over 17 million followers on social media, recently told Love magazine she seeks the advice of friend and fellow model Kendall Jenner when faced with online hate.

"You only understand it when you're literally experiencing it," she said. "Kendall's the one who will always be like, 'You don't need that, just let it go.' And I know that if that's working for her then it can work for me."

Hadid is the eldest child of Mohamed Hadid and The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Yolanda Foster. She is known for her modeling work with Guess, and has walked the runway for Chanel, Marc Jacobs and Victoria's Secret.
