LOS ANGELES, March 20 (UPI) -- Actor-director Ben Affleck says the huge, colorful phoenix tattoo on his back isn't permanent.

The Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice star was recently photographed with the new body art, but he told TV's Extra the tattoo was "fake for a movie."

"I actually do have a number of tattoos... but I try to have them in places where you don't have to do a lot of cover up," he explained. "They get sort of addictive, tattoos, after awhile."

The Oscar-winning director of Argo recently split up with actress Jennifer Garner, his wife of 10 years and the mother of his three young children.
