LOS ANGELES, March 11 (UPI) -- Khloe Kardashian backtracked Thursday after commenting on Ciara's vow of celibacy.

The 31-year-old reality star clarified her remarks after appearing to criticize the 30-year-old singer and Russell Wilson for practicing celibacy on Wednesday's episode of Kocktails with Khloe.

"It's so frustrating how people misconstrue my words!" the star tweeted. "I love & adore Ciara! I respect her on many levels. Was freely discussing my views on celibacy & people twist & turn everything 2 create a feud."

Kardashian had seemed to suggest Ciara and Wilson went public with their vow of celibacy to create a certain image of themselves. She also pointed out Ciara shares a 21-month-old son with her ex-fiancé, rapper Future.

"With all due respect to Ciara, she has a baby," the star said of the singer's son, Future Zahir Wilburn. "It's not like we don't know if she's a virgin or not."

"None of us would know about [the vow] if they weren't publicly telling us that they are practicing celibacy," she added. "Who are you trying to prove this to? Is it a look?"

Ciara and Wilson have been dating since spring 2015 and enjoyed a family outing to Dodger Stadium last month. The 27-year-old NFL star discussed abstinence in July, saying he and Ciara are able to experience love without sex.

"God spoke to me and said, 'I need you to lead her,'" the Seattle Seahawks quarterback told pastor Miles MacPherson. "So I told her, 'What would you do if we took all of that extra stuff [like sex] off the table and just did it Jesus' way?' And she was relieved."

"She's everything you could ever want," the athlete lauded. "The most beautiful woman in the world. She's the most kind person, the most engaging person. I could probably learn more from her."

Kardashian came to fame on E! series Keeping Up with the Kardashians and premiered Kocktails with Khloe on the FYI Network in January. Ciara and Wilson announced their engagement Friday after a year of dating.
