Wearing a dark combat outfit, two sharp sais and a red scarf, the new character poster features Yung in full costume looking out into the distance.

"You can't escape the past," reads Daredevil's official Facebook page, hinting at Elektra's relationship and past with titular hero Matt Murdock played by Charlie Cox. Yung joins fellow newcomer Jon Bernthal as The Punisher and the returning cast of Elden Henson as Foggy Nelson, Deborah Ann Woll as Karen Page and Rosario Dawson as Claire Temple.

Speaking with Collider about playing Elektra, Yung mentioned that she is a "sociopath" who is willing to kill to reach her goals. "This world is a game for her. It's like a chess game, and what motivates her is what she wants. She'll use anything she needs to use to get her goal, and if she needs to kill people, she will."

"She has this coldness in her, and I tried to keep that. But on the other hand, we wanted to create a character with different layers. I think Elektra isn't a bad person, but she's not a good person," the actress continued. "She's a person with different traits, with layers, and she's seeking who she is. In this season, there's an arc to her story. Hopefully, she'll find we'll find out who she is, by the end of it."

Elektra joins Daredevil Season 2 when the hit superhero drama returns to Netflix with 13 new episodes on March 18.
