Lamar Odom 'ready' to hear about his hospitalization

LOS ANGELES, Jan. 25 (UPI) -- Khloe Kardashian says Lamar Odom is doing well and ready to hear about his hospitalization.

The 31-year-old reality star discussed her 36-year-old estranged husband's health on Monday's episode of The Ellen DeGeneres Show. Odom was hospitalized after being discovered unconscious in a Las Vegas brothel in October, but was unaware of the circumstances until recently.

"He's great," Kardashian said via video call. "He's hung out with Kourt's and Kim's kids. He loves family time. So he's been doing really good. I think it makes him feel good to be around everyone, too, and to just be in a happy environment over obviously where he was."

"Every day he'll ask me, 'So what happened to me?'" she shared. "And I'm honest. But it's good that he wants to know these answers. Before he didn't want to know, he wasn't ready to know. So it's great that he's at the point that he's ready to know everything that happened."

Odom, who was found with drugs in his system, suffered brain damage as a result of the October incident. Kardashian told DeGeneres the former NBA player's long-term memory is "great," but said he is still struggling with short-term memory loss.

Odom was hospitalized three months before being released to a live-in rehabilitation center earlier this month. Kardashian said she and her estranged husband are taking "every day as it comes" during a recent appearance on Good Morning America.

"I've learned not to really look into the future," she said of a possible romantic reconciliation. "I do believe that we're soulmates, but that's not even where my head is at ... It's all about his health and my happiness and his happiness and right now those are two individual things."

Kardashian, who called off her divorce from Odom after his hospitalization, is presently dating Houston Rockets shooting guard James Harden. The reality star responded to backlash over her dating life on the Kocktails with Khloe premiere last week.
