Kelis reportedly welcomes second son

NEW YORK, Dec. 18 (UPI) -- Kelis has reportedly welcomed her second child.

Sources told E! News the 36-year-old singer secretly gave birth to new son Shepherd in November, and that Kelis is "thrilled" with the "healthy" baby.

Word of the star's pregnancy broke in August, with sources saying she is "really excited" for the new addition. Kelis is also mom to son Knight with ex-husband Nas, and told Page Six the 6-year-old is looking forward to being a big brother.

"He's over the moon," she said of Knight. "He feels like ... the baby is more related to him than to any of us. He just feels like it's his baby ... he's all about it. I'm like, great, I'm so glad you're into this."

Kelis has yet to name Shepherd's father, but rumored husband Mike Mora posted a photo of dirty diapers Wednesday captioned "#daddylife." The star discussed motherhood at the Los Angeles Women's Expo in October, saying parenthood has changed her life.

"It enhances you," she shared. "I don't know if it really changes you. I think it just enhances who you already are. It makes the things that you do make sense. You're more poignant and more focused."

Kelis last released Food in April 2014, which includes the singles "Jerk Ribs" and "Rumble." The singer is also a trained chef who studied at Le Cordon Bleu, and released her first cookbook, My Life on a Plate, in September.
