LONDON, Dec. 18 (UPI) -- Kate Middleton and Prince William shared a new family portrait including their children Prince George and Princess Charlotte Thursday. Taken by photographer Chris Jeff, the portrait includes an autumn backdrop and features baby Charlotte sitting on her kneeling mother's lap, George standing and smiling on her right side, and Prince William looking over at his son while stooped to be at his wife's left side.

The photo was taken in the garden at Kensington Palace in late October.
"I thoroughly enjoyed photographing a very lovely family, although you have to be sharp as you don't have long when there are two young children involved!" photographer Jeff said in a statement released by the palace.
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge also announced the nursery that their two-year-old son will begin attending in January, a Montessori school in Norfolk near their home, Anmer Hall.
The newfound tradition of sending their children to schools with other children, BBC observes, was started by Princess Diana, who reportedly insisted her son William be exposed to his peers.
