Spin said the song "has the same kind of horn-soaked positive vibes" as those found on Chance's 2015 album Surf and also ties in his fatherhood experience to daughter Kinsley, who was born in September.

The single is now available for free on iTunes and SoundCloud.

Chance and Colbert also talked about upcoming collaborative work between the two, including a documentary featuring Colbert.

In the hours before the performance, Chance's Twitter page was rife with re-tweets of users anxiously awaiting Chance's performance with the hashtag "#ChanceonColbert."
