Bill Clinton booked for Tuesday's 'The Late Show with Stephen Colbert'

NEW YORK, Sept. 30 (UPI) -- Former President Bill Clinton is to appear as a guest on Tuesday's edition of The Late Show with Stephen Colbert in New York, CBS announced.

Clinton's first visit to Colbert's new chat show coincides with the conclusion of the 11th Clinton Global Initiative, which "convenes global leaders to create and implement solutions to the world's most pressing challenges," a network news release said.

Also booked for Tuesday's program are comedian Billy Eichner and musical act Florence and the Machine.

Clinton, 69, served as commander-in-chief of the United States from 1993 to 2001. His 67-year-old wife Hillary, who was Secretary of State under President Barack Obama 2009-13, is now running for president.
