NEW YORK, Sept. 22 (UPI) -- Sandra Lee announced she's cancer free during an appearance Tuesday on Good Morning America.

The 49-year-old Food Network star revealed the happy news to host Robin Roberts four months after undergoing a double mastectomy for breast cancer. Roberts herself was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2007, and underwent chemotherapy into 2008.

"My doctors have said I am cancer free and I am ready to go," Lee shared. "I was early stage, and what the beautiful thing is about early stage cancer ... is it gives you every option in the world, and that is what I took."

Lee announced she'd been diagnosed with breast cancer in May, and underwent her mastectomy shortly after. She was rushed to the hospital for post-mastectomy complications in August, and had surgery to treat an infection days later.

"I would make that decision again," she said of the mastectomy to Entertainment Tonight. "Absolutely, even given the complications and the secondary infection. There is no question in my mind. [I'm] relieved that there is no cancer left in my body and I just want to move on with my life."
