Quincy Jones doing 'fine' after hospital visit

LOS ANGELES, Sept. 18 (UPI) -- Music icon Quincy Jones is doing 'fine' after being taken to a hospital Thursday due to a shortness of breath.

His rep, Arnold Robinson, told ABC News "Quincy is fine. He had some shortness of breath and in an abundance of caution he went in for observation. He is fine though."

The 82-year-old record producer fell ill at his Bel Air home during the afternoon sources explained to New York Daily News.

At 1:20 p.m. we received a call for unspecified medical aid," a Los Angeles fire department spokeswoman said when asked about activity at Jones' address. She said an ambulance transported one patient.

The legendary producer himself took to Twitter to reassure fans that he was alright.

"Had a little shortness of breath, but all is good. Still much to do. God Bless," he posted.

Jones has earned 27 Grammys over his career and has worked with some of the most well-known artists in music history including Frank Sinatra, Ray Charles, Marvin Gaye, Stevie Wonder and Michael Jackson just to name a few.
