'Facts of Life,' 'Godfather' actor Alex Rocco dead at 79

LOS ANGELES, July 19 (UPI) -- Film and television actor Alex Rocco has died at the age of 79, his daughter confirmed on Facebook.

"Alex Rocco aka Alessandro Federico Petricone, Jr. passed away just hours ago on July 18, 2015. February 29, 1936 - July 18, 2015 RIP Dad, I love you forever," Jennifer Rocco posted Saturday.

The cause of his death was not disclosed.

The Boston native has dozens of screen credits on his resume, but was best-known for playing Moe Greene in The Godfather, as well as Charlie Polniaczek on the sitcom The Facts of Life, Roger Meyers Jr. on the animated TV series The Simpsons and Arthur Evans on Starz's Magic City.
