LOS ANGELES, June 24 (UPI) -- Stars dressed to the nines for the premier of the motion picture Max at the Egyptian Theatre in Los Angeles.

While cast members lit up the red carpet in their bright and colorful ensembles, no one could compete with the star of the show: Carlos, the dog (Belgian Malinois) who plays Max in the movie.

Rachel Leigh Cook showed off her post-baby figure in a lacy red dress and brown strap heels. She was accompanied by her husband, Daniel Gillies.

The couple welcomed a son, Theodore Vigo Sullivan, on April 4.

Actress Lauren Graham, who plays a grieving mother in the movie, wowed in a sleek black-and white jumpsuit.

Josh Wiggins, who stars as the younger brother of the fallen hero, arrived in a blue suit and stripped tie.

He and Graham snapped photos with Carlos as they walked the carpet.

Based on a true story of a war dog named Gunner Max follows the story of a war dog that suffers from PTSD after the death of his handler in Afghanistan. He is sent home and adopted by the soldier's family who must all try to overcome their grief together.
