Britney Spears debuts short haircut with bangs

LOS ANGELES, June 11 (UPI) -- Britney Spears has a short, new hairdo.

The 33-year-old singer chopped her locks into a blunt cut above her shoulders with side-swept bangs just in time for summer.

Spears debuted her look Tuesday on Instagram, writing, "My new haircut," and added a clearer picture Wednesday with the caption, "It's a little black romper kind of day."

The pop star is currently on break from her Las Vegas residency at The Axis at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino, and will return to the stage Aug. 15. She was spotted shopping in Thousand Oaks, Calif., this week.

Spears released her eighth studio album, Britney Jean, in November 2013, and kicked off her Piece of Me residency show the next month. The singer recently revealed she likes to paint nude while listening to fellow pop star and Las Vegas residency holder Mariah Carey.
