LAS VEGAS, May 20 (UPI) -- Viewers weren't able to fully enjoy Kanye West's performance at the Billboard Music Awards due to long censorship breaks and the outspoken singer is not happy about it.

The broadcast heavily blocked parts of the performance in 30-second intervals , including words that didn't violate the FCC's regulations.

West's publicist released a statement on Tuesday regarding the incident, that said:

"Kanye West was grossly over-censored at the Billboard Music Awards. Non-profane lyrics such as 'with my leather black jeans on' were muted for over 30 second intervals," read the statement. "As a result, his voice and performance were seriously misrepresented. It is ridiculous that in 2015, unwarranted censorship is something that artists still have to fight against. Although West was clearly set up to face elements beyond his control during the live broadcast, he would like to apologize to the television audience who were unable to enjoy the performance the way he envisioned."

The sound of boos coming from the audience while Kendall and Kylie Jenner introduced their brother -in-law to the stage, however sounded very clear during the broadcasted award show.
