Lara Logan hospitalized for internal bleeding

60 Minutes correspondent Lara Logan suffers from diverticulitis caused by stress.

WASHINGTON, Feb. 27 (UPI) -- Journalist Lara Logan was hospitalized in Washington, D.C., after experiencing internal bleeding.

The longtime CBS reporter has been suffering from the digestive disease diverticulitis, which could have been brought on by stress. She was rushed to the hospital on Wednesday.

"We wish her a speedy recovery," a CBS spokesperson told People magazine.

Logan joined 60 Minutes in 2002. The South-African native has reported from Afghanistan and Iraq. In 2011, she sustained a beating and sexual assault in Tahrir Square during the Egyptian revolution.

The 60 Minutes team suffered a tragedy earlier this month when veteran correspondent Bob Simon was killed in a New York City car crash on Feb. 11.
