HOLLYWOOD, Jan. 7 (UPI) -- Marvel's week of announcements and unveilings continued, as Netflix revealed the official release date and motion poster for its upcoming Daredevil series to eager fans on Wednesday.
Starring Boardwalk Empire's Charlie Cox in the titular role, Daredevil will premiere on April 10 with all 13 episodes available to stream on Netflix.
In addition to Cox, Daredevil will co-star Rosario Dawson, Vincent D'Onofrio, Deborah Ann Woll and Elden Henson.
Daredevil tells the story of urban lawyer Matt Murdoch, who lost his sight at a young age in a freak accident that simultaneously enhanced his other senses. Murdoch moonlights as masked superhero Daredevil, protecting New York's Hell's Kitchen neighborhood from organized crime, corrupt cops, supervillains and itself.
Marvel and Netflix are hoping Matt Murdoch's alter ego is a bigger hit on tablets and televisions than the near-universally-panned 2003 Ben Affleck film.
