LOS ANGELES, Nov. 7 (UPI) -- Nick Cannon isn't ready to date.

The 34-year-old actor said as much in an interview with People earlier this week. Cannon confirmed his separation from wife Mariah Carey in August, and told the magazine his priority is his children, not jumping back in the dating pool.

"I'm great," he declared. "There are a lot of people after me right now. I gotta slow it down. I'm trying to slow it down and stay focused. Family is the first thing and my kids are most important."

"I haven't even thought about [the 'perfect woman']," he confessed. "I'm just taking it one day at a time. Obviously the dating thing will come down the line, but right now I'm just slowing down."

Cannon and Carey married in April 2008, and welcomed fraternal twins Monroe and Moroccan in April 2011. The actor was rumored to be involved with Amber Rose, but declared he had no part in the model's split from husband Wiz Khalifa.

Cannon and Rose were spotted at a single's bowling night Tuesday in Los Angeles, but the actor has continued to insist he is her manager and nothing else. He told the Wall Street Journal he admires Rose's "curation" and "tastemaker quality," and is simply trying to capitalize "on all of that."
