LIVERPOOL, England, Oct. 8 (UPI) -- George Harrison's childhood home will be auctioned off later this month in Liverpool, England.

The late musician was 6 years old when he and his family moved in to the house in 1950, and they remained there until 1962. Harrison was living at the residence when he met Paul McCartney, and he, McCartney, John Lennon and Stuart Sutcliffe formed the Beatles in 1960.

The Harrisons were offered the home as government-owned public housing, and the house today has been completely renovated. The property features three bedrooms, a sitting room and a garden, and the auction will begin bidding at roughly $160,600. Lennon's former home sold for $772,000 in October 2013.

"Taking into consideration the location, the property itself and the background, we expect a lot of interest locally and internationally," said Stephen Giddins of Realtor Entwistle Green.

The auction will take place Oct. 20 at the Cavern Club, a venue where the Beatles performed 292 times between 1961 and 1963.
