Zac Efron's friends are skeptical about the actor's incident with a group of transients over the weekend.

According to TMZ, the actor's peers are "worried sick" that he might be using drugs again and claim the man who was with him when he got into the altercation on Sunday was not really his bodyguard, but a drug dealer.

Efron was punched on the mouth by transients Sunday after getting stranded in a questionable part of Los Angeles with a man he identified as his bodyguard, but his friends say the outing doesn't make much sense.

"Zac's a loner. He goes out rarely and the idea of him driving for miles to go to some sushi restaurant in downtown L.A. after midnight is preposterous," said one pal.

Efron's friends have reportedly warned him to stay away from his alleged bodyguard, but he apparently refuses to do so. The actor has allegedly lost a number of friends over the past few months as they've become frustrated trying to help him get his life on track.

Additionally, sources told TMZ, that reports that Efron spent five months in a rehab facility are false and that the actor was treated privately at a friend's house outside California instead.
