'How I Met Your Mother' ratings surge

"How I Met Your Mother" boosts ratings for all CBS programming Monday night.

How I Met Your Mother's penultimate episode had a surge in ratings Monday, up 17 percent from the previous week, Neilsen said.

The overall winner in total viewers for the night was ABC's Dancing With the Stars, but CBS' How I Met Your Mother dominated in the category of adults 18-49 with a 3.4 rating, 11 share and 9.1 million viewers overall.

The sitcom was so successful Monday, all of CBS' lineup that night -- 2 Broke Girls, Mike & Molly, Mom and Intelligence -- saw a bump in ratings.

The Voice, which airs at the same time as How I Met Your Mother, was down 10 percent from last week.

How I Met Your Mother ends its nine-season run Monday with a special, hourlong episode, Variety reported.
