TONY SCOTT: Filmmaker Tony Scott had an antidepressant and a sleep aid in his system when he jumped from California's Vincent Thomas Bridge, the Los Angeles County coroner's office said.

Scott had no serious medical conditions, including cancer, at the time of his death, the Los Angeles Times said Monday.

Police told the newspaper they still don't have a clear motive for why he killed himself in August at the age of 68.

Rumors circulated after Scott's suicide saying the native Englishman was suffering from a brain tumor, but his family has vehemently denied the speculation.

Therapeutic levels of the sleep aid Lunesta and the anti-depressant mirtazapine were found in his system, the Times said toxicology tests showed.

Scott frequently worked with actors Tom Cruise and Denzel Washington. Among Scott's films were "Top Gun," "Beverly Hills Cop II," "Days of Thunder," "The Last Boy Scout," "True Romance," "Crimson Tide," "Enemy of the State," "Spy Game," "Deja Vu," "The Taking of Pelham 123" and "Unstoppable."

HUGH GRANT: British actor Hugh Grant is to star in writer-director Marc Lawrence's new untitled romantic comedy, producers announced Monday.

Grant, whose film credits include "Four Weddings and a Funeral," "Notting Hill," "About a Boy," "Love Actually" and the Bridget Jones movies, has most recently starred in the time-spanning epic "Cloud Atlas" and the animated family picture "Pirates! Band of Misfits."

Producer Martin Shafer announced Grant will begin work on Lawrence's movie in New York this April. This marks the fourth collaboration between Grant, Lawrence and Castle Rock Entertainment. They previously made "Two Weeks Notice," "Music and Lyrics" and "Did You Hear About the Morgans?"

"In 1998, Ray Michaels was on top of the world -- a witty, sexy, Englishman in Hollywood who had just won an Academy Award for Best Screenplay," a synopsis said. "Fifteen years later, he's creatively washed up, divorced and broke. With no other options, he takes a job teaching screenwriting at a small college on the East Coast. Although the idea of teaching is less than thrilling, he hopes to make some easy money and enjoy the favors of impressionable young co-eds. What he doesn't expect to find is romance with a single mom who's gone back to school."

MAROON 5: Pop-rockers Maroon 5 said Monday they plan to make 31 stops on their 2013 North American concert tour to support their latest album "Overexposed."

The band will be joined by Neon Trees and Owl City on all dates.

The tour is to kick off Feb. 13 in Columbus, Ohio, at the Schottenstein Center. It is to wrap up April 6 at the Allstate Arena in Rosemont, Ill.

Tickets are to go on sale Saturday.

'HOMELAND:' U.S. cable television network Showtime says it has ordered a third season of its CIA drama, "Homeland."

The 12-episode new season was announced by David Nevins, president of entertainment at Showtime Networks Inc.

The network said the series returned for its second season Sept. 30 and is up 60 percent from its Season 1 premiere, which delivered 2.07 million viewers for the night. The Season 2 premiere of "Homeland" attracted 5.2 million viewers across all platforms, a series high and the best performance for a sophomore series on Showtime.

"The Emmy wins for 'Homeland' have certainly set the stage for a great second season," said Nevins in a statement. "The writers, cast and crew of 'Homeland' continue to create a remarkably entertaining and suspenseful roller coaster ride, growing audiences week after week. We can't wait for our viewers to experience what unfolds through the rest of Season 2. Our partners at Fox 21 have been tremendous, and we are thrilled to begin the planning for 'Homeland's' third season."

"Homeland" last month earned six Emmy Awards, including Outstanding Drama Series.

Claire Danes stars in the show as Carrie Mathison, a CIA officer battling her own demons, who is convinced the intelligence that led to the rescue of Damian Lewis' character Nicholas Brody, a U.S. soldier who had been missing and presumed dead for eight years, was a setup and may be connected to an Al Qaeda plot to be carried out on American soil, a Showtime synopsis said. The series also stars Mandy Patinkin, Morena Baccarin, David Harewood, Diego Klattenhoff, Jackson Pace, Morgan Saylor, Jamey Sheridan, David Marciano and Navid Negahban.
