HARRY MORGAN: Actor Harry Morgan died Wednesday at his Los Angeles home, his son Charles said. He was 96.
The Detroit native is best known for playing Col. Sherman T. Potter on the classic Korean War-set sitcom "M*A*S*H." His other small-screen credits include "Dragnet," "Pete and Gladys," "December Bride," and "Hec Ramsey."
Morgan appeared in more than 100 films, including "The Ox-Bow Incident," "Wing and a Prayer," "High Noon," "Inherit the Wind," "How the West Was Won," "Frankie and Johnny," "Support Your Local Sheriff!," "Support Your Local Gunfighter!" and "The Shootist."
Charles Morgan told The New York Times his father was recently treated for pneumonia but the cause of his death wasn't immediately known.
The actor is survived by his wife Barbara, three sons and eight grandchildren. Another son, Daniel, died in 1989, the newspaper said.
JODIE FOSTER: Building contractor Lucius Foster, the father of Hollywood actress Jodie Foster, has been convicted of grand theft and contracting without a license.
Lucius Foster, 89, was convicted Wednesday of swindling $130,000 from poor and elderly people in a home-building scam.
He faces as much as 25 years in prison when he is sentenced Thursday, People.com said.
Lucius Foster, who divorced Jodie's mother before the actress was born, told TV's "Inside Edition" this week he did not steal the investors' money and blamed the bad economy for the charges against him.
PATTY JENKINS: U.S. film director Patty Jenkins says "creative differences" are to blame for her departure this week from "Thor 2."
Jenkins is best known for directing the movie "Monster" and pilot for the TV police drama series "The Killing." If she had gone through with her plans for "Thor 2," she would have made history as the first female director of a Marvel Studios superhero movie.
"I have had a great time working at Marvel," Jenkins said in an exclusive statement issued to The Hollywood Reporter Wednesday. "We parted on very good terms, and I look forward to working with them again."
The entertainment industry trade newspaper said the studio is looking for a new director for the project.
Kenneth Branagh, who directed the first "Thor," said he wasn't interested in directing the sequel, also because of "creative differences."
The Hollywood Reporter said Marvel declined to comment on its story.
OLIVIA WILDE: Hollywood actress Olivia Wilde is dating "Saturday Night Live" cast member Jason Sudeikis, UsMagazine.com reported Wednesday.
"She's come to the ['SNL'] studio at Rockefeller Center, and they've gone out to dinner after rehearsals," the celebrity news Web site quoted an unnamed insider as saying.
A second source close to the couple said they attended the show's after-party at the New York club Loi Dec. 4.
"They walked in holding hands," the source said.
The UsMagazine.com report did not say when the romance started.
Wilde, who co-stars on the medical drama "House," ended her eight-year marriage to Tao Ruspoli in March.
Sudeikis dated actress January Jones for six months before they broke up this year.
